Nasi Goreng

Nasi Goreng is an Indonesian Rice Dish common in all Dutch
and Indonesian Households. It is served for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Ingredients: 4 Cups Cooked Rice
1/2 Cup Diced Celery
1/2 Cup Diced Onion
1/2 Cup Diced Leeks (White part only)
1/4 Cup Chopped Peanuts
1 Cup Sweet Peas
1/4 Cup Diced Raw Bacon
1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
2 Scallions Julienned
1/2 Tsp Sambal Oelek or any Hot Red Pepper Sauce
4 Eggs
Instructions: In a large Sauce Pan cook diced Bacon until Crisp.Remove with slotted spoon and set aside.

Add Celery, Leeks and Onions and cook until soft.

Add Peas, Peanuts and Bacon back to the pan. Add Brown Sugar and Sambal Oelek.

Add cooked Rice and Toss to coat the rice.

Remove from heat and divide onto 4 plates.

Heat a Separate non-stick pan and Fry the egg (any way you like). Place one fried egg on each pate and garnish with Julienne of Scallion.
